Foster Placements can be Hectic!

Guess who is coming to dinner? Sometimes foster parents get a last minute call and receive a surprise dinner guest—or even two! We all know our busy schedules can make it difficult to get dinner for ourselves, so we understand that bringing a foster kid into a new environment can be even more hectic.

Our First Night Meal program provides either a family meal—we have volunteers that love to cook—or gift cards to a local restaurant to help make dinner time less stressful. We're not strict about this being used the first night at all, either. We know it's hectic with school schedules and extra activities to keep those kids growing, learning and simply allowing them to be kids! We also know the dinner table can be the best place to sit and talk to your family and share experiences. We want you to have that bonding time, no matter where the dinner table is located—whether in your home or at a restaurant.

If you have an idea for a great restaurant, let us know so that we can be in touch with them for gift cards. If you are someone that puts lots of loving into cooking and want to provide meals, please reach out to us—we are always looking for cooks!
