Eden’s Closet is one of the newest programs at Matthew’s Child, and is probably one of the largest that we have taken on. It has taken off and been a great resource for foster kids that have been quickly moved with only the clothing on their backs. We've also used it to help biological families as their children begin to return home.
Additionally, we have gently used children’s furniture, strollers, toys, shoes and more for those who have a placement that they are not prepared for. For example, if you have a toddler bed and your placement is a teenager, that is most likely not going to work! To assist with these types of situations, we keep some items in stock.
Our foster care closet is available for new placements; when a child out grows old clothes; heads back to school; or to stock a child up on clothes before they return home to their biological families.
We accept donations of gently used clothes, shoes, coats, hats, gloves for newborns all the way to teen age sizes! Stop by our office see what we have on hand, or to make a donation. If you are a foster family or child, stop by and pick out something for yourself!
